  Windstorms, earthquakes, wildfires… oh my! In this free workshop, you will learn about emergency risks in the area and cover the basics of what you need to know to prepare your household for a disaster, including supplies, local resources and steps you can take to be ready for the unexpected.

  Join Highlands Council and Issaquah CERT on the first Thursday of every month for the Are You Ready? Workshop Series at the Blakely Hall Resilience Hub. 

  Note: this workshop is designed for those who have NOT completed CERT Basics. All are welcome to attend, but most material is repeated from the CERT Basics curriculum. If you would like to help with future workshops, please reach out to lindsey.pinkston@issaquahcert.org.

  Registration for the Fall 2025 CERT Basic Training Course at Issaquah Public Works Operations is now open.  CERT training is a four-week course with two classes per week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM and wraps up with a final disaster simulation at Issaquah Public Works Operations, 670 1st Ave. NE, Issaquah 98027.  Classes with start on Tuesday, October 14 and finish on Thursday, November 6.  The final disaster simulation is on Saturday, November 8 with a Next Steps class and graduation on Thursday, November 13.

  It’s vital for every household to have an emergency plan. Bring your family or roommates and we will walk through the process of building your plan together. Kids are welcome to join. Think of it as family time with a purpose!

  Applications for the Winter CERT Basics weekend intensive course are now open. Apply by Dec. 1 for priority registration! You are not registered for the course until you receive and accept an invitation from us.

  CERT basic training is free and open to anyone interested in learning how to serve the community before, during and after a disaster. Teens are encouraged to sign up! Teens aged 13-17 need written permission from their parent or guardian, and youths between 11-12 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all trainings and events.

  The training requires 24 hours of class time plus a final drill. This intensive session will be conducted over two weekends at Blakely Hall. All classes and the final drill are mandatory. If you miss any portion, you must make it up with another CERT training program in order to pass the class. If you can't make it on all four days, we recommend waiting until the next course because it's difficult to make up units from this intensive schedule.
